Part of our church ministry & community outreach is to take part in Operation Christmas Child!
Many children around the world have never heard the Gospel message of eternal life in Jesus Christ. They live in hard-to-reach, impoverished communities where parents struggle to provide the basics. Rarely, if ever, do the children receive a present that's just for them.
In 2019 more than 10.5 million children in over 100 countries and territories received shoeboxes full of special gifts. And, for the first time, these children heard that God loves them. This has resulted in evangelism, discipleship, and multiplication across the world!
Shoeboxes were packed by individuals and families in 10 countries: Australia, Austria, Canada, Finland, Germany, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
After receiving shoebox gifts, many children are invited back to participate in our discipleship program, The Greatest Journey. Through this 12-lesson course, which includes Bible stories and Scripture memorization, they learn how to follow Christ in their daily lives as they share Him with friends and family. More than 23.3 million children have enrolled in this program since 2009.
Eight of us went to Puerto Rico in October, 2018 to work with a sister church there. We still maintain contact with them and continue praying for them.
We helped with whatever needed to be done, including building cleaning & maintenance, as well as helping with clearing land & cleaning up after storms destroyed some of their community.
Their church services are upbeat, exciting, & involved. They clap, dance, and worship with their whole hearts.
Friendships between church members were intensified by working on a common goal & being together all week. We also developed strong ties to their community while there.
